PUTRAJAYA: The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, today granted an audience to Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) chairman Tan Sri Ismail Bakar at the Istana Hinggap Perak, Changkat, in the federal capital.

During the meeting, Ismail briefed the Sultan on the importance of strengthening the role of oversight bodies to enhance the effectiveness of governance and the national enforcement system, with an emphasis on greater transparency, accountability and efficiency.

"This is in line with public expectations that every investigation finding be translated into meaningful action that improves the enforcement system and strengthens public confidence," Ismail said in a statement today.

He said the EAIC also presented updates on the proposal to establish a Malaysian Ombudsman, aimed at reinforcing public complaint oversight mechanisms and improving the overall efficiency of national governance.

"EAIC is committed to ensuring that its role goes beyond monitoring.

"We aspire to be an institution that delivers added value to the people, particularly by ensuring that every complaint received is handled responsibly and that accountability within the enforcement system is strengthened," he said.

The commission also expressed appreciation for the views and continued role of the royal institution in supporting efforts to enhance integrity, accountability and the authority of the country's administrative system.
