DATUK SERI DR. YUSOF ISMAIL was born on 14 Mei 1962 in Terengganu. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, B.EC (Honours) from the University of Malaya (1985), a Diploma in Public Management from the Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) (1988), a Diploma in Islamic Studies from the National University of Malaysia (1991), a Master's Degree (Development of Economic) Williams College, United States (1997) and Doctor of Philosophy Degree (Ph.D) Universiti Putra Malaysia (2011).

Datuk Seri Dr. Yusof Ismail has has extensive experience in public service through his appointment as Divisional Secretary at the Ministry of Finance (2018) and Deputy Director General at the Malaysian Administrative Modernization and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) and subsequently appointed as Director General of MAMPU (2020 to 2023).

Throughout the service, Datuk Seri Dr. Yusof Ismail was awarded the title of Seri Mahkota Wilayah (S.M.W.), Dato' Setia Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin (D.S.M.Z.) and Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (D.I.M.P.).

Datuk Seri Dr. Yusof Ismail has been appointed as Commissioner of EAIC by His Majesty the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong XVI with effect from 1 February 2024 for a period of three years.
