Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the government would fulfill its promise in establishing the Independent Police Complaint and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC), which carries good intention. It is one of the promises made in Pakatan Harapan`s manifesto. The IPCMC proposed in 2005 by a royal commission of inquiry gained strong support from the public. However, the government eventually replaced it with the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) due to strong objections by the police.
